Covenant to Care for Children mobilizes and channels the generosity of caring and faithful people to advocate for, mentor and provide direct assistance to Connecticut’s children and youth who are neglected, abused or at-risk.

Approved September 27, 2005

Covenant to Care for Children works to create a future where all Connecticut children have caring families and safe places to live and all caring and faithful people demonstrate their own personal commitment to the welfare of children.

Covenant to Care for Children grateful for faith-based community support

Covenant to Care for Children works with over 240 faith-based communities throughout Connecticut. Many of our faith partners do special projects during the year to support our children. Many of our faith partners host mentoring groups that work with young people who are at-risk or may have a parent in prison. The next few months our focus is on our Adopt a Social Worker Program.

Covenant to Care for Children is more than just a name, it is a core part of how we approach our service to the abused, neglected and at–risk children and youth of Connecticut. Through our Adopt a Social Worker Program, faith-based organizations sign a covenant in which they promises to care and provide for our children in a particular Social worker’s caseload. These caring and faithful people provide those things that go above and beyond what the State can provide and often these gifts from the spirit allow a family to stay together or reunite.

The work done by those faith-based communities with a singed covenant involves thousands of volunteers, amazing people who live their faith in their actions. Below is a list of our current Covenant partner organizations as of February 1, 2008. We wish we could acknowledge all of the individuals who make up these communities. If your faith-based community is part of this list take a moment to say thank you to those in your community who head this effort and ask them how you can participate. If your faith-based community does not have a covenant with us, take the lead by calling us and arranging for one of our program coordinators to visit and share the miracles that this work produces. Even a small cash donation to Covenant to Care helps us to reach out to more faith communities and help more children.  Read more
