Please consider helping children stay in school by
donating the following items. If you choose, fill the
backpacks with other items you think will help an abused
or neglected child feel encouraged to go to school.
Children removed from their home often are required to
attend a different school as part of a placement process
and have an increased need to feel like they belong;
please no used items unless they are in very,
very, good condition.
Every
year many of our congregations statewide run backpack
drives to help children get a good start to the school
year. Unfortunately this year the need is overwhelming
and our matched congregations will not be able to help
all of the children in need. We need help filling all
the request from social workers statewide.
This
may seem like a simple request but just imagine a child
getting off the bus for the first time with a new backpack and nice school supplies. This may be the only
time they have ever looked forward to going to school.
A positive attitude can make a huge difference in the
life of a child. Something as small as a backpack can
give a child hope and the chance to be just like
everyone else.
Any
individual, business or school group who is willing to
help a child in need please contact Covenant to Care for Children for
more information.
