In 2005 over 20,000 children were put under DCF’s care.  Over 20,000! That is in addition to the thousands already in “the system” from previous years.

We know there are thousands of churches in CT yet the AASW program is currently covenanted with about 200.

There are 120 SWs currently on our waiting list.  That means we could use an immediate 120 churches willing to be a covenanted partner in the Adopt A Social Worker program.  To say nothing of the additional children we could support with even more churches.

SWs cases can range from 10 to 20 and the children move into and out of the system.  Supporting one SW for a year could make a critical difference in the lives of dozens of children.

It’s about the Children:

Since you are reading this website you probably believe in or are curious about the work of Covenant to Care for Children.  The AASW program works!  Children do get the goods they need to feel cared for and connected to the community. 

Perhaps you have already donated or volunteered with us or another agency that serves children; but is your faith community matched through AASW with a social worker?  If not, simply call CCC, ask for the appropriate Regional Coordinator (see listing elsewhere on this website) and give us your congregation’s name, phone and the name of your clergy.  Or email the information to info@covenanttocare.org.  If you would like to be involved with recruiting your church, great.  If not, we will take it from there.

With more congregations matched with social workers, more children will have access to the generosity of the faithful in CT.
