News Flash from Covenant to Care for Children

You have recently received several emails inviting you to join us for an exciting evening celebrating Covenant to Care for Children’s mission and work to improve the lives of children in Connecticut. These times are unsettling and we are all feeling concern, for ourselves and for others.  It is important, however, for the party to go on – for you to join us in fellowship - having fun, being entertained, and supporting CCC.

Don’t let the ticket price be the reason you do not join us.  We are reducing the price to $50 for “Dancing with Covenant Stars,” November 7th at The Goodwin Hotel beginning at 7 pm.  We want a ballroom full of people, bidding in the silent auction as we are entertained by jazz singer LaTanya Farrell, dining on wonderful selections from The Goodwin, voting for your favorite performers, and then dancing to the music of Jerry Costanzo and his orchestra.

For further information or to RSVP please call 860-243-1806 or email: dsantis@Covenanttocare.org

How the Dancing With Covenant Stars Event Works

During the show, the judges will give a score based on several factors, including technical execution. But the judges' scores alone do not decide a couple's fate.

Each table will be assigned their own personal “ballot stuffer” from Connecticut Junior Women’ Juniorettes. After each dance performance, your “ballot stuffer” will swing by your table to collect votes. Each $20.00 donation buys one vote for the dance couple of your choice.  There will be color coded envelopes on your table and available from your “ballot stuffer“ for each of the dancing contestant couples. You can stuff the envelope with multiple $20's or write your bidder number and the number of votes you want to give on the outside of an envelope. After each dance performance your “ballot stuffer” will be around to your table to collect your votes. You may vote as often as you wish for as many of the dancing contestant couples as you wish.

Your votes will be tabulated by our professional “chad counters.” At the end of the evenings dance contest the couple with the highest combined score from judges and audience votes will receive the title of Covenant Dance Star 2008 and the magnificent trophy. The scoring is divided evenly between the judges and the audience, ensuring unpredictable outcomes.
