CT HOLA Awards $5,000 Grant to Covenant to Care for Children

Bank of America awards Covenant to Care for Children $5000

(L-R) Joyce Ward, Dhalma Austin, Caryl Hallberg, (Executive Director of Covenant Care for Children) and Janice Ward

The Bank of America Affinity Group Grants Program provides charitable dollars for non-profit organizations selected by the Bank’s seven affinity groups. The grants program allows affinity groups to support community organizations that focus on issues and populations important to the group.

This year CT HOLA was proud to award one of the grants to Covenant Care for Children.

Covenant to Care for Children (CCC) responds to the basic needs of Connecticut’s most vulnerable and deprived children.  Last year, in the wealthiest of the 50 States, nearly 10,000 of Connecticut’s children were the subjects of substantiated abuse and/or neglect reports.  The large majority of Connecticut’s residents want to help, but it is difficult to know how to meet each child’s needs effectively, given the need to respect their privacy and, in most cases, the great complexity of their needs.  Covenant to Care for Children supplements State resources available to these kids, by bridging the divide between abused/neglected/at-risk children and people of good will who want to effectively help them.  Our vision is a future where all Connecticut children have caring families and safe places to live and all caring and faithful people demonstrate their commitment to the welfare of children.
