Covenant to Care for
Children receives $4,000
grant to be used for the
purchase of beds for
children across the state.
The William and Alice
Mortensen Foundation donated
$4,000 to Covenant to Care
for Children’s Critical
Goods Program. Thanks to the
Foundation’s generosity, the
program will be able to
continue pursuing its goal
of providing families with
children with dressers,
chairs, beds, and clothing –
goods that are essential to
preserving the unity of
these struggling families.
Specifically, this donation
will be used to purchase and
deliver new beds to
Connecticut’s children.
Under any economic
circumstances, furniture
costs can present a
significant expense for many
families. However, with the
economy in its current
state, poorer families find
the prospect of purchasing
such essential items nearly
impossible. Thus, monetary
donations such as these have
become much more important
recent months. Charlie
Mulholland, coordinator of
the Critical Goods Program,
is aware of the dire need of
the state’s lower income
families.
Progress has been made.
Covenant to Care for
Children, a non-profit
organization with
headquarters in Bloomfield,
has been working for years
toward the goal that, one
day, all the state’s
children will be blessed
with a comfortable living
environment. CCC is thankful
for any support it receives,
whether from faith
communities, philanthropic
groups, or private citizens.
Covenant to Care for
Children mobilizes and
channels caring and faithful
people to advocate for,
mentor, and provide direct
assistance to Connecticut’s
children and youth who are
abused, neglected or
at-risk. For more
