Covenant to Care for Children Participates
in Hartford Cares

June 2008

girl flowersCovenant to Care for Children is one of the many community groups that participated in Hartford Cares. On June 30, 2008, we joined for an evening of music, dance and poetry along with a candlelight vigil to foster healing and hope in Hartford. Our staff attended as participants and as members of the community, setting up an information booth in Bushnell Park and distributing educational and informational materials.

The evening included performances by some of the area’s finestgirl candles artists, testimonies by extraordinary citizens, and learning opportunities with organizations such as Covenant to Care for Children. Organized by Leadership Greater Hartford in cooperation with the Mayor and Court of Common Council, and other partners this evening brought together the entire community in one spirit.

It doesn't take special skills to mentor a child --
just a willingness to listen, offer encouragement
and share what you've learned about life.
