Planned Giving Contest Winner Announced By Donor Motivation Program

The Donor Motivation Program announces the winner of their Planned Giving Contest: Michelle L. Brooks of Bridgeport, Connecticut, a donor of Covenant to Care for Children.

Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania (PRWEB) June 16, 2011

The Donor Motivation Program, http://www.DonorMotivation.com, and The Motivation Professionals of North America announce the winning donor of their Planned Giving Secret Millionaire Contest winner, Michelle L. Brooks of Bridgeport, Connecticut. Covenant to Care for Children, the winning nonprofit, and their Executive Director, Ms. Caryl Hallberg, are also winners.

“The contest was designed to spotlight the power of planned giving by hosting a very special contest in conjunction with James Malinchak, featured on ABC's Primetime TV Show, 'Secret Millionaire' which aired on Sunday, March 20, 2011,” says Scott Keffer, the Founder and CEO of The Donor Motivation Program.

The Donor Motivation Program decided to use ABC TV's "Secret Millionaire" and their relationship with James Malinchak, who is a believer in planned giving and The Donor Motivation Program, to bring attention to charitable giving in general, and planned giving specifically. Over 10 million viewers tuned in to watch the March 20 episode featuring Malinchak. Very simply, nonprofits invited their donors to watch the Sunday, March 20th episode of “Secret Millionaire” and answer two simple questions at http://www.DonorMotivation.com.

The selected donor and sponsoring nonprofit are both winners. The donor, Michelle L. Brooks, and her guest receive a 3-day trip to Las Vegas and will attend a private, VIP Event at James Malinchak’s home. The sponsoring charity, Covenant to Care for Children, will receive a $5,000 donation in Ms. Brooks’ name and Ms. Caryl Hallberg, Executive Director, will accompany her to Las Vegas and the VIP Event.

“The contest was a huge success across the country as we shined the spotlight on donors and the nonprofits they support,” reflect Greg Hammond, CFP®, CPA and Scott Iles, the Donor Motivation Professionals in Hartford, Connecticut who introduced the contest to Covenant and over 400 nonprofits just in their area.

“We are so excited to sponsor this contest as a way to highlight the key role that planned giving plays in creating healthy nonprofits,” adds Michael Palumbos, a Donor Motivation Professional in Rochester, NY.

In order for planned giving programs to be sustainable, they must become more and more cost effective and time efficient due to often severely limited resources.

"A healthy planned giving program enhances the long term viability and stability of nonprofits. We are glad to be a part of the solution," adds Michael Slaughter, CFP®, AEP, CLU, a Donor Motivation Professional in Charlotte, NC.
