How can I donate to the program?

If you would like to donate items to Covenant to Care for Children's Critical Goods Delivery Program, please call:

Monday - Friday between 8:30 AM - 4 PM

If you plan to bring donations for children to our main office, you can make an appointment with the staff over the phone.  If you would like to have your donation picked up, you will be connected with our Critical Goods Coordinator to schedule the pick-up. See our "How to Help" list for donation ideas.

Furniture should be in presentable condition (not stained, ripped, broken, or covered with animal fur).

There is typically a two-week wait from the date of your call until the pick up occurs.  Be sure you can hold items for that period if needed.

We request that anyone who donates furniture make a $20.00 donation to Covenant to Care for Children to help defray the cost of running this program.  The donations can be included in your income tax receipt.

How Can I Donate a Vehicle to Your Program?

Beginning in January 2009, Covenant to Care for Children will be accepting car donations. We are partnering with Car Program, Inc. who since 1991 has provided over 2000 nonprofits with a practical means of raising funds via vehicle donations. Covenant to Care for Children will receive 70% of all net proceeds from the sale of a donated automobile.

When it comes time to say good-bye to your current vehicle, please consider a tax deductible donation to Covenant to Care for Children. All you need to do is call us at the main office 860-243-1806 and we will fill out the donation form with you over the phone or go ahead and fill out the forms here.

 * Policies regarding Cribs:

Covenant to Care for Children can no longer accept “drop-side” cribs as donations nor will we purchase drop-side cribs for the children and families we serve.

According to Inez Tenenbaum, Chair of the Consumer Product Safety Commission, there is a movement toward having all drop-side cribs banned. With the information of safety concerns for the children we serve now made available to us our only course of action was to discontinue providing such items to our children.

We cannot pass along these cribs to other children due to safety issues, and as a result do not accept them as donations. If the crib is part of a larger donation, we will offer to take the crib and dispose of it for the donor.
