Program Assistant/Truck Driver & Furniture Mover (Bloomfield)

The Critical Goods Technician will assist the Critical Goods Coordinator with the pick-up and delivery of furniture and household goods. At the request of the Coordinator, the assistant will also enter requests into the database, return calls from potential donors and social workers and schedule pickups and deliveries. Also oversees the organization and management of the Agency "closet" (donated clothing, etc.); assures timely completion of all Critical Goods Requests for clothing, household items, etc. from the "closet".

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent, preferred.
  • Must be able and willing to travel. Must have a valid driver's license issued from the state in which the employee resides. Evidence of this, in the form of a copy of the license, must be provided at hire and at the time of renewal.
  • A clean background and driving record are absolute requirements.
  • Box truck or larger driving experience preferred
  • Good sense of direction and knowledge of travel within Connecticut.
  • Position requires heavy lifting, movement of 75lbs or more, and ability to climb three flights of stairs.
  • Ability to work with diverse constituencies.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Given the high level of contact with the public, this individual represents CCC and must possess the ability to do so with professionalism.
  • An absolute criterion for this role is strict adherence to the privacy of all involved.
  • Basic computer knowledge, willingness and aptitude to learn database entry.
  • Ability to work unusual hours, occasional nights & weekends.
