Youth
Mentoring Program
- Many young people today are without guidance from a wise
and trusted person and often children grow into adulthood
without models to show them how to achieve success in our
complex world.
- Frequently they choose actions that are harmful to themselves
and to society.
- Every young person should have at least one adult in his/her
life who makes and maintains a commitment to guide him/her
into adulthood.
- To achieve this goal, the Covenant to Care mentor program
aims to train volunteer coordinators from fiath communities
and mentors to assist teens in establishing plans for housing,
health, education and employment while nurturing their spirituality.
- If the teen is a parent, mentors will help him/her to meet
the needs of the baby, helping two generations at one time.
Mentors accomplish wonderful things with their
mentees all the time. Yet experience has shown that with the structure
of a program more youth can be reached, the mentoring can last
longer, and programs that plan ahead for problems can remain viable
far longer than those who work alone. To have a significant impact
on our world we need a large multifaceted and sustained effort.
A successful program involves a few key players. This is your
chance to be one of them.
